Cooking Experience Days: If you’re partial to a good steak, you’ll love this half day cooking lesson in Devon. Grab you’re apron and learn to cook the perfect sirloin—plus mushroom and Chimichurri sauces to accompany!The experience takes place at one of the region’s finest cookery schools, in a renovated warehouse on Exeter’s historic quayside. Owners Jim and Lucy opened the school in 2016, and with the help of their team, they’ve earned a great reputation for hands-on classes and first-class hosting. During this half day lesson, they’ll show you how to make the most of your ingredients and serve restaurant-quality steaks every time. You’ll learn about the different cuts of beefs and cover essential cooking techniques, like pan-frying, testing for ‘done-ness’, resting and deglazing. As well as your sirloin steak, you’ll also prepare creamy mushroom and delicious Chimichurri sauces—‘cause what’s a piece of beef without the gravy? Whether you like them well done or still mooing, your steaks will never be the same again.
