Hovercraft Experience Days: If you thought hovercrafting was just for Isle of Wight crossings – think again! The English inventor, Christopher Cockerell, patented the first hovercraft, in 1952. Since then, they’ve been put to different uses around the world, though today’s small craft still operate on the same principles as Cockerell’s original. On the race track, your instructor will demonstrate how to start, stop, and negotiate bends. Gliding on a cushion of air, you’ll then complete several laps of the circuit, including a final time trial race.
