This experience also includes lunch and the opportunity to watch a professional polo match while you enjoy some well-deserved drinks! You’ll begin your full-day polo experience by meeting your expert instructors at their club in Taunton, Somerset. Breathe in that fresh countryside air, and admire the surrounding natural beauty before you begin your exciting day of polo. Your instructor for the day will give you an in-depth run down of everything you’ll need to get started, beginning with a lesson on hitting the ball on foot using foot mallets. You’ll also practice on model and mechanical horses to help you master the technique before you test it out on the real thing! After a fun morning filled with practice, you’ll have worked up quite an appetite, so you can take a break to enjoy some lunch and reflect on what you’ve learned so far. After lunch, it’s time to put your lessons into action on one of the school’s master polo ponies. Feel the thrill of hitting the ball with the mallet as your trusty steed guides you around the field. Don’t worry – your instructor will be on-hand at all times just in case you need any help. Once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll be arranged into teams to play a chukka with the club players. This will be followed by a prize-giving ceremony. Once the rightful winner has been crowned, you can enjoy a drink or two while you watch the pro’s play tournament matches.
