Surfing Experience Days: Surfing lessons in Bournemouth offer a fantastic taste of the sport that is not just a pass-time, but a lifestyle, for people all over the world. This is a 1.5 hour introduction to one of the most beautiful, pure and exhilarating extreme sports there is - no motors, tracks, lifts, harnesses, no bells & whistles - just you, your board, and the water. Would-be surfers will receive superb tuition from BSA accredited instructors, and should ideally get from sand to stand during the course of the lesson. There are very few feelings that can rival the rush of riding your first wave - except perhaps every other wave you catch and ride after it! You'll be welcomed by your instructor when you arrive at the surf school, and will begin your lesson with a full briefing on all things surfing - this includes beach awareness, water safety, and an introduction to surfing and the techniques you will be using during the lesson. After being fitted for your wetsuit and board, you'll hit the beach to put theory into practice. With your surfboard securely on the sand, you will practise paddling, popping-up and how to control your board, before heading into the water. The remainder of the lesson will be spent trying to stand - and stay standing! - as you feel the buzz, the sense of freedom that comes with catching and riding waves. At the end of the session you'll most likely be feeling pretty tired, so after you head back to the centre to change and warm up, we recommend that you recuperate over a hearty meal and a hot drink!
